Warm Meals for Children

Learning on an Empty Stomach Is Nearly Impossible

In many families in Buhoma, income is barely enough to buy food regularly. For many children, this means going to school without breakfast or lunch.

When children are hungry, it is hard to concentrate, to learn, or to actively participate in class. A regular meal can make a big difference – for health, concentration and the chance for education.

A Place for Warm Meals

With HopeKitchen, we created a place in Buhoma where children receive regular warm meals. Here they can eat together, recharge and simply be children for a moment.

The kitchen was built by Hope on the road and is operated together with local partners. Our goal is a place that helps children long-term – with nutrition, homework support and a safe environment.

Up to 120 children benefit from HopeKitchen every day.

Mark Suer

“I personally accompany the projects in Buhoma regularly. Together with local partners, we build and run HopeKitchen so that children receive a warm meal every day. It is important to me that help arrives directly and is implemented transparently.”
