From a Dream to HopeKitchen Buhoma
When Mark and Susanne Suer from northern Germany first visited Uganda, they saw a country of breathtaking beauty – and heartbreaking need. Children growing up without regular meals. Families struggling to afford school fees. Communities where help rarely arrives.
They knew they could not just look away. In 2025, they founded Hope on the road – a non-profit organisation with a clear mission: creating a future for children and people in need through education, nutrition, hygiene and care.
Not with big promises. But with direct, personal presence on the ground.
Mark and Susanne Suer register Hope on the road gGmbH in Germany with the mission to help children in the Bwindi region of Uganda.
Multiple visits to Buhoma and the surrounding communities. Building relationships with local partners. Understanding the needs first-hand.
A piece of land in Buhoma becomes the foundation for everything that follows. Not much to see at first – but a place full of potential.
The first walls go up. The blue roof takes shape. Step by step, a place is created that will help many children.
Up to 120 children now receive free meals, homework support and a safe environment every day. The dream has become reality.
We believe that every child deserves a chance. Not because it is easy, but because it is right.
Mark regularly travels to Buhoma personally to accompany the projects. Together with local partners, Hope on the road builds and operates HopeKitchen. It is important that help arrives directly and is implemented transparently.
Hope on the road is not a large organisation. It is a family project, driven by conviction and carried by a growing community of supporters – the HopeClub.

Help that arrives. Personal presence on the ground, not distant administration.
Every euro is accounted for. Supporters see exactly where their help goes.
Not one-time aid. Sustained support that creates real perspectives.
Built on real relationships – with the children, the community, and our supporters.
Hope on the road is growing – and you can be part of it. Whether through a visit, a donation, or joining the HopeClub.
